Who we are, and what this website does — and doesn't — do.
Driving Licence Download is an independently run information platform created to help people in India understand how to obtain a digital copy of their driving licence through official government channels — namely DigiLocker and the Parivahan Sarathi portal.
We publish plain-language, step-by-step guides, keep track of the correct official links, and answer common questions people run into along the way — like DL number formats, what to do when a record isn't found, and how digital licences hold up legally.
We are not a government body, and we have no affiliation with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the National Informatics Centre, Parivahan, Sarathi, or DigiLocker. We do not issue, verify, store, process, or have any access to anyone's driving licence data. Every actual document fetch and identity verification happens directly on the official government portal, not on this site.
Government portals are comprehensive but not always easy to navigate on a first visit, especially for people doing this for the first time. Our goal is to remove that friction with a clear walkthrough, while always sending you to the real, official source for the document itself.
